Dak Prescott had to overcome a lot this past season. In week 5, Dak suffered a horrific ankle injury. Dak Prescott just signed a four-year, $160 million deal with the Cowboys. Although the Cowboys were not a very good team in 2020, until week 5, Dak was their only hopeful player. This is a great deal for the Cowboys because he was leading the league in passing yards and he was one of the most well rounded players in the league.
A Brief, but Brilliant 2020
Dak had the most passing yards in the NFL all the way up to week 8. He was so ahead of his competition they did not even end up with as many yards as him until he sat out for 3 weeks. I definitely believe that Dak Prescott would’ve led the Cowboys to the top in the NFC East.
Although it became worst division in the league, towards the end it was very competitive in the NFC East. I do not believe that it would have been as competitive if Prescott did not have a season ending injury. I think the Cowboys would have gone 9-7 or 10-6.
Worth the Risk
I can see why paying Prescott could be viewed as a bad idea. You just don’t know if he has fully recovered from the injury. Even if he is slower, though, he still had two great receivers in CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper that would make some plays to help Dak out. I also believe he is the most well rounded QB in the NFL. Dak will still probably have some mobility and can get the ball downfield with an average of 8 yds per throw.
All of this shows why Dak Prescott should have been paid. He is the most well rounded QB in the NFL and was in the top 8 (maybe 5) QBs until the horrific injury. Here’s to a speedy recovery. The Cowboys will be in good shape with Dak under center.
The next time I read a blog, I hope that it does not disappoint me just as much as this one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read through, however I truly thought you would probably have something interesting to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something you can fix if you were not too busy looking for attention.
