College Football: Last Minute Spotlight

Ryan’s Sick Pix

Thursday night’s game produced some pretty bad beats. Overall on my picks, I went 5-3 with two bad beats. The Raiders had more than their fair share of chances to win this game, even though Mariota wasn’t horrible and the game stayed close, this bet was dead before halftime. The over for total points hit with 57, passing the line of 54.5 total points. Herbert hit his over for passing yards, but Carr’s injury early ended any chance for Carr to go over. With how he started and the fact that Mariota threw for 229 yards in relief, gives me no doubt Carr would have gone over. The worst beat of the night was by far the Raiders over 27.5 total points, finishing with 27 exactly. Anyway, here are some picks for today’s big day of college football.

Minnesota-Wisconsin

Looking at some of the college football games today, it’s time to find some plays. Starting with Minnesota versus Wisconsin. I like Minnesota +11.5, as I think Wisconsin is very overrated. To me, they are not close to 12 point favorites. The line for total points is set at 46.5 which is a very solid number. My gut says this game will go over, but the under is also very tempting, in what could be a pretty ugly game.

Ohio State-Northwestern

Ohio State and Northwestern meet up for their first matchup of the season in the Big Ten Championship. Northwestern has had a fantastic season, but this game should be all Ohio State. If they truly want to make the CFP, they need to come out and dominate Northwestern like they have done basically every week this season. Justin Fields passing prop is at 262.5 and I like the under. Northwestern’s defense has been incredible only allowing 192 passing yards per game. OSU -19.5 should be the play of this game. While it might be a sweat, OSU needs to cover for more reasons than just for this bet to hit.

Clemson-Notre Dame

The game of the day I am mostly looking forward too is Clemson versus Notre Dame. We finally get the rematch we deserve with a healthy Trevor Lawrence. I like Notre Dame over 23.5 points as they scored 40 on Clemson last time they played, as well as over 59.5 total points. While I like Notre Dame +10.5, I am not as confident as I am on points.

Florida-Alabama

Florida and Alabama meet up in the SEC championship game. In a matchup that could have been so much more meaningful, had Florida not blown it last week. While Bama is one of the hottest teams in the country, I like Florida +17.5. Pitts is back today for Florida and he is one of the best playmakers in college football. I like the over on points and don’t see much defense being played.  Touchdown scorers in this game I like Najee Harris, Devota Smith (both could definitely score twice and I would not be surprised), as well as Kyle Pitts and Kardarius Toney in their final game for Florida (not including a potential bowl game).

Tulsa-Cincinnati

The last game we’ll get into is Tulsa at Cincinnati. My favorite play is for sure Cinci over 29.5 total points, as they have gone over that in every game besides one this year. Total points are set at 44.5 and I love the over as well. Cinci should cover -14 as they hope for a big-time shuffle in the rankings with potentially some teams above them losing today.
